Detection methods
Methods over magic.
Ref MET-00
Six instruments, each with a specific job. We sequence them by system and symptom so the finding is repeatable, documented and defensible — not dependent on a hunch.
Acoustic Listening
Pressure-driven leak noise amplified, filtered and correlated to a point.
Thermal Imaging
Infrared cameras reveal temperature differences left by escaping water.
Tracer Gas
A safe gas mix is introduced to reveal leaks that make no audible noise.
Pressure Testing
Controlled isolation and pressure loss proves whether a line is losing water.
Moisture Mapping
Calibrated readings plotted across walls and floors to trace the source.
CCTV Drain Inspection
Camera survey of drains and sewers to find breaks, roots and infiltration.
Why it matters
A marked point is worth more than an opinion.
Two methods confirming the same location is what allows a plumber to open one small area instead of a whole floor, and what allows an insurer to approve trace-and-access work without a second opinion.
FAQ
Method questions
Still unsure? Call the 24/7 line or send a WhatsApp and describe what you are seeing — we will tell you what test is needed.
How do you decide which method to use?
By system and symptom. A pressurised supply line points to acoustic and pressure testing; under-tile losses point to thermal; silent low-pressure lines point to tracer gas; damp complaints start with moisture mapping.
Is all your equipment calibrated?
Thermal cameras, moisture meters, pressure gauges and acoustic units are calibrated and checked before each survey, and readings are interpreted by a technician rather than a single instrument.
Can you combine methods in one visit?
Yes — and we usually do. Combining acoustic with thermal confirmation is what turns a probable location into a marked, defensible point.
