Problems
Start with the symptom, not the guess.
Ref PRB-00
Most people arrive with a bill, a stain or a warm patch — not a diagnosis. Choose what you are seeing and we will tell you what it usually means, what you can safely check, and which test settles it.
High Water Bill
The account jumps but nothing looks wet. Here is how we prove why.
Water Meter Running
Meter turning with everything closed? This is the first test we run.
Damp Walls
Rising damp, a leak, or condensation? The diagnosis changes the repair.
Hot Floor Patch
A warm patch underfoot usually means a hot-water line is losing water.
Pool Losing Water
Measure the loss first, then separate the shell from the plumbing.

What detection costs by problem
| Detection work | Typical range | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Hidden water leak detection (residential) | R850 – R2 500 | Acoustic sweep, thermal scan, pressure isolation, written report |
| Geyser & hot-water line detection | R850 – R2 200 | Geyser compartment, overflow and hot-line tracing |
| Slab leak detection | R1 500 – R5 000 | Zone isolation, correlation, thermal confirmation, marked point |
| Pool leak detection | R500 – R3 500 | Bucket test, pressure test of lines, dye test at fittings |
| Irrigation leak detection | R850 – R2 800 | Zone mapping, valve and solenoid testing, line location |
| Rising damp & moisture mapping | R1 200 – R3 500 | Gridded moisture readings, plumbing exclusion, written diagnosis |
| Commercial leak survey | From R3 500 – Site specific | System review, night-flow testing, prioritised multi-site report |
FAQ
Before you book
Still unsure? Call the 24/7 line or send a WhatsApp and describe what you are seeing — we will tell you what test is needed.
My bill is high but I cannot see any water. Is a leak the only explanation?
No. Meter faults, a passing toilet cistern, a stuck irrigation valve or a pool autofill can all inflate a bill without visible water. Pressure isolation and meter testing separate those causes quickly.
Can I test anything myself before booking?
Yes. Shut every tap and appliance, note the meter reading, wait 15 minutes and read it again. If it moved, water is passing somewhere. Each problem page lists the safe checks we recommend.
How quickly will I know the cause?
Most residential problems are diagnosed on the first visit, in 60 to 120 minutes. Slab and commercial investigations can require a second pass.
